Derek SkinnerParticipant
I should manage it. It will make a change having a cycle without George.
😀
Derek SkinnerParticipantI won’t be attending tonight but hope it goes well. I am happy to arrange the 90th year cycle in 2024 if there is support.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantHi Jim
If a proposed off road adventure comes off then I will need to focus a bit more on my gravel bike riding. I am less concerned with speed/racing so will probably come along and see how it goes.
I am away WC 25th but should be okay into October.
Cheers
DelDerek SkinnerParticipantI have booked a table at 11.30 at BrewDog if anyone wants to come along for a food/beer or neither before the riders hit Glasgow.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantGeorge and I found a couple other sharp little buggers on the circuit. 🥵
I might go to BrewDog on Ingram street for a pint and wander about. Le Col are based there.
Pubs open at 9 on a Sunday? 🤔
Derek SkinnerParticipantYes I will get train up. I’d originally suggested a cycle up via crow road but that means leaving KA postcode 😞.
George Square appears to be the hub. Or Glasgow Green.
Derek SkinnerParticipantGood day lads.
If anyone gets the chance of a day off the train to Stranraer and cycle back has 4 or 5 excellent options. About 20 new miles for me today.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantThat’s 6 – so probably topped out at that.
Del, Alan, Chris, Philip, George and David.
Derek SkinnerParticipantHopefully you wake up on time 😀. See you tomorrow.
Derek SkinnerParticipantHi David
Absolutely. We are cycling to Ayr from Troon, leaving Loans at 6.45am. Or meet you at Ayr railway station.
Any issues my mobile is 07776255398
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantI’d maybe join you for a that on the 2nd Ian if that’s ok. Will check out the weather nearer the time.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantAnother event we would recommend.
It’s perhaps a bit of a journey to get there – drive and ferry – but a great welcome at the host town and an excellent sportive. Good roads and scenery round the Island, with 3 well stocked food stops (with a 20 min allowance for each that was ideal). About 500 riders, with majority of a similar standard to us doing the 100 mile route.
We stayed just outside Castletown in a fairly basic but good hotel, a couple days cycling and 3 evenings in the town or Douglas. Probably all in cost of £350 (hotel, ferry, fuel, food etc).
Perhaps one that the club attends next year if anyone is interested – not one for anyone who hates hills or steep gradients.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantSo far 5 FWCC members have signed up for this. Anyone else interested in a trip to Isle of Man ?
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantI enjoyed the past two weeks and would recommend it to anyone looking for a chain gang. Unfortunately will miss this week 😎☀️🚵♀️🍺
Also Ardrossan to Largs road surface is very good.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantEnjoyed that today – good workout.
13 out? Half of them FWCC
