Slight alteration to 90m route – at Creetown we will go left as I am not sure of surface on the original route even though it is designated a cycle route, I suspect it might be rough.

Both end up in the same place (Clatteringshawsloch)and same mileage.

Toilets – not sure in Dalbeattie.

I will create a new ‘clean’ post later this week with all the details re timing and route as this one is getting v busy.

Plan is for 90 mile groups to leave a few minutes ahead of 90km.

Could people message the non-members you know with the details.

Forecast looks good for next weekend.

It’s about 90min drive to Dalbeatie. Try and car share if possible, although there is parking it is a small village.

If anyone wants the route for their garmin/wahoo please message me and I will send a gpx.

Key places are: Dalbeattie, Kircudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas (Creetown and New Galloway for 90 mile route). Cafes/shops at all these places.

Possibly a couple more or a couple less – but plenty of riders.

I had hoped to get lunch at Gatehouse of Fleet but the museum cafe has staffing shortages and prob not open. Plenty options Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and Mikey’s back pockets.

I’d suggest that all the groups keep it pretty easy during the day. 90 miles is a fair whack, so best to keep efforts manageable for 6 hours on the bike.

Routes / details

Both start at Dalbeattie at 9.30am (exact location for parking to follow).

90k & 90m roll out towards Kirkcudbright and Gatehouse of Fleet.

90m does extra loop to New Galloway.

90k & 90m head back to finish via Castle Douglas

So we should have a large peloton to start and 3 or 4 options for cafe/co-op stops depending on the weather the preference would be to buy sandwiches etc and sit outdoors.

The routes for download and group leaders will be posted next week.
