Derek SkinnerParticipant
Apologies, I won’t make it on Monday.
Derek
Derek SkinnerParticipantBooked into campsite for 3 nights.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantI will join you
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantIs there anywhere safe to leave a car ? Isn’t it a dodgy area….
Derek SkinnerParticipantSounds tough – but not as tough as watching Scotland 😫
Derek SkinnerParticipantJim, it’s worth doing even if solo (and weather ok). I was lucky to tag along with Philip and a few folk he knew, but there are so many others doing it you are bound to get in groups.
Best event I did last summer, just clashes with my tour of 🇩🇪⚽️.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantWell done everyone. Almost 40 out today and almost 40 came home.
91 next year and a year older 🤪
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantLoads of room at the car park in Dalbeattie. No toilet facilities there, but public loos are along the road in the town.
When you get back on Saturday afternoon the town has plenty of places for food or drink.
Again, if you are running late let me know on 07776255398.

Derek SkinnerParticipantSaturday 9am meet up for 9.30am start.

Alan Broadfoot has ‘tidied up’ the routes but no major detours. All good roads apart from the one used for cattle only. But that’s ok.
Take sun cream 😎
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantAnd I just noticed we were going to be on a stretch of the A75 so have changed that as well from Gatehouse of Fleet.
I will send out the revised GPX

Both end up in the same place (Clatteringshawsloch)and same mileage.

Toilets – not sure in Dalbeattie.
I will create a new ‘clean’ post later this week with all the details re timing and route as this one is getting v busy.
Plan is for 90 mile groups to leave a few minutes ahead of 90km.
Could people message the non-members you know with the details.
Thanks
Derek SkinnerParticipantForecast looks good for next weekend.
It’s about 90min drive to Dalbeatie. Try and car share if possible, although there is parking it is a small village.
If anyone wants the route for their garmin/wahoo please message me and I will send a gpx.
Key places are: Dalbeattie, Kircudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas (Creetown and New Galloway for 90 mile route). Cafes/shops at all these places.
Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantI will do a reminder later next week but this is where we will meet and park (it’s free and plenty of space) and Catherine will be next door with her motorhome and bacon rolls 😄

If Russell has put up the ‘noncyclists sign’ only cafe open at 9am in Dalbeattie is the garden centre

Del
Derek SkinnerParticipantHi David – yes all start at Dalbeattie – I will post where exactly next week.
Meet 9 for 9.30 roll out.
As long as it’s not snow 👍
