The final Georgetown League event was held this evening (17.08.22) with event 8 marking the end of a season curtailed by roadworks. Despite this, Fullarton Wheelers had 2 riders completing the 4 events necessary to count in the league competition. In 16th place overall and 2nd in the over 60 competition, Dougie Macdonald recorded 4 times between 16.49 and 16.54 for an aggregate time of 67.26 – almost 3 minutes faster than last year and one place better in the age group category. In his first year in the over 60 competition, young Steve Donaldson finished 3rd with a total time of 76.11, a mere 27 seconds slower than last year when he was competing as an over 50. Both riders will return to the Georgetown course for the Georgetown Cup event on the 3rd of September for a last chance of recording a season’s best time.
