Was thinking of giving this one a go on May 1st – https://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/race-details/23021

Still trying to decide if I can be bothered or whether it is time to sell the TT bike. Anyone else thinking of going? A good sized FWCC entry may persuade me to give it another go.

The time doesn’t suit me for now Gordon, still using Zwift though and will be through the winter. A wet Saturday morning is more likely to find me in attendance.

Gordon – the following Sunday would work better for me, cannot commit to this coming Sunday at the moment. Hope we can agree on a date to suit everyone for this month. I will partner Sean on his slow winter bike, seems like a fair pairing to me!

Sean – are you working your way through Del’s bike collection or is that one yours? 🙂

As Mikey has said we should aim for the 9am ferry from Gourock, the weather looks dry through the morning and into early afternoon with rain forecast for mid-afternoon. If we get out early we should get most, if not all, of the run in the dry. That is the forecast as it stands now of course, might change…. but aim to meet at 8am Wemyss Bay or 8.45am at McInroys Point, Gourock to catch that 9am ferry to Dunoon.

What a shame, I will be down in Brighton. Gutted (not). Hill Climb racing is a young man’s game, we must have a few youngsters ready to give this a go.

Allan – we had a look at this but I think there is a lack of available riders. I am away, neither Simon or Iain can make it and I am not sure how many other members still have TT bikes. Speak to Gordon Graham but I think any idea of a team has been shelved for this year sadly.

Not sure on the parking – it covers a big area and I don’t think it is likely to be used in the vast majority by anyone who is not shopping as I do not think there is a lot else around there. The parking is free and I think there is a secondary south car park as well. Without being able to say for sure I think we would be unlucky to get nicked / clamped etc.

I don’t think anyone should worry too much about the climbs, we are not taking on any of the big Lake District ones except for the Whinlatter Pass and we are doing that from the easier side. Overall the amount of climbing is not large for the distance we are covering.
Komoot has a recommended pub for food just north of the A66 after about 70 miles which may be a good place to take a break (The Mill Hotel in Mungrisdale).
